Are you having problems with your Server, Email, Web, FTP, Security, Applications and other Services?

The internet opens new dimensions for password security. Automatic software components are continuously searching the web for services which can be exploitet, like Remote Desktop services, FTP, SMTP, or web applications using authentication for more functionality.

We can secure your systems against brute-force attacks, dictionary attacks, and password guessing without locking out user accounts.

A common way to avoid password cracking over network connections was to lock out user accounts in case of too many unsuccessful logins. One problem of the lock-out functionality of Windows is that everybody could lock out the user accounts of your organisation, if you provide services like Remote Desktop or Microsoft Exchange Outlook Web Access.

Hacking is driven by many objectives. Some hackers build illegal bot-nets which are used for greater attacks. These can consist of tens of thousands of nodes (servers). Once cracked, hackers install scripts and software components on the computer which wait for the hacker to start an attack. Common attacks to build illegal bot-nets are brute force attacks on FTP servers or Remote Desktop.

Spammers use foreign SMTP servers. As hosting servers are usually secured by username/password for relaying/sending emails, spammers need to get a password for the box. A common way to get a username/password for sending emails is to automatically test email address/password combinations with scripts which are easy to create, even for a beginner in software development. These attacks are brute force (random/sequential characters) or dictionary attacks. For the latter, dictionary-files and databases can be downloaded with lists like "most common passwords", pet names, names, etc.
